Is learning about our past useful?
Hello There!
My answer is more than useful. Below is why.
By learning our past can give us the opportunity to not only for us to
avoid making the same mistakes again, but also it can
push us to move forward, to make positive changes and to think positively. As a
result, we can become wiser by making better decisions in our future.
Everything that happens in your life is happening for a specific reason. How you accurate define
it is entirely up to you, because either you can let your past defeat you, or let it push you to
think positively, to make a positive change and to move forward. For example, every weekend you
ride your bike to buy groceries. This Saturday morning, your bike breaks down and you don't have
the money to buy a new bike. A positive thinking is that the broken bike does not happen to you, but
rather it happens for you, because God wants you to walk for groceries every weekend from now on,
so keep you healthy. A positive change is that it makes you start to plan to find a new full-time or
part-time job because you need money to buy a new bike. Finally, the above
example is clearly showing that you are moving forward.
Every time I look back at my past, I always feel the same thing as there is numerous things I
wish that I should had done this and that, and at the same time a numerous things
I wish that I should not had done this and that. Tomorrow I will look back today, I will
still feel the same. Why is that? The only reason is because not everything how it starts
and how it ends are under my control. ………. Please do forgive me if all of you were hurt a
thousand times by me without a single word while I was studying at University of Toronto from 1993 to 1998.
It is the most struggles and challenges is what we learn the most. Life and death is a natural part of life. So is misfortunes are part of our life.
My conclusion is that no matter what had happened to you in your past,
the person you are today is the acumulation of all your past experiences.
Whatever is done can not be undone. So please live for the moment. Then you
can live for a better, valuable and happy meaningful life for the rest of your life.
